Oncology Laboratory Practicals
Laboratory investigations are fundamental to modern cancer care, supporting diagnosis, staging, treatment selection, monitoring, and the identification of treatment-related complications.
This course provides a practical introduction to laboratory investigations used in oncology. Participants will explore haematology, biochemistry, tumour markers, pathology, immunohistochemistry, molecular testing, and selected genomic investigations relevant to cancer care.
Emphasis is placed on understanding the clinical relevance of laboratory results, recognising significant abnormalities, correlating findings with the patient's clinical condition, and appreciating the role of laboratory professionals within the multidisciplinary oncology team.
