Section 2

Palliative and supportive oncology focuses on improving quality of life and addressing the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of people living with cancer. It can be integrated throughout the cancer journey, alongside disease-directed treatment, and is particularly important for patients with advanced or life-limiting illness.

This course provides a practical foundation in symptom assessment and management, pain and psychosocial care, nutritional support, communication, advance care planning, end-of-life care, and support for families and caregivers.

Participants will develop an understanding of multidisciplinary palliative oncology practice and the role of supportive care in improving comfort, function, treatment tolerance, and quality of life.
